4. Introduction to the method of textual analysis. Stages 1-6: Close reading of the text, identification of author, plot summary and central idea, structure, analysis of form and content, conclusion.

7-8. Borges, "El Sur," 130. Application of the method and incorporation of two secondary sources.

9-10. Cortázar, "La puerta condenada," 93. Analysis and incorporation of four secondary sources, each quoted at least twice.

11-12. "Letters From the Park": text versus movie version.

13. Final paper due.
