Accomplishments

Conducted research in association with the City University of New York Dominican Studies Institute as
Research Associate.

Coordinate second language Learning Communities for ESL and content-area faculty teaching language courses
and introductory major courses at the community college level & design seminars in Second Language Writing for community college faculty.

Developed and conducted training seminars for teachers of English as a Second Language on the graduate and
in-service levels in the continental United States and abroad.

Collaborated with computer information systems faculty to create a content-based ESL pair to Computer
Information Systems introductory level major courses.

Instructed in English as a Second Language at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels including
listening comprehension, oral communication, reading and composition with a special emphasis on
computer-assisted writing at the college level of instruction; taught courses in SAT preparation for
graduating high school seniors.

Designed content-based writing materials for use by intermediate-level ESL students and content-based
listening materials for beginning-level ESL students.

Coordinated education and vocational programs within an alternative, therapeutically-focused learning
environment.

Supervised and trained instructional staff to better accommodate the learning needs of remedial students in an
alternative educational setting.
