A Bad Day
My
name is Wan Huei Hu. I think people have a day that they will
never forget. For me, this particular day is a day which I never
expected to happen. From that time on, it has become a part of
my life forever.
Three years ago, in my country, Taiwan, I
rode my motorcycle to go home after work. The road I had passed
a lot of times was the same as usual. All of a sudden I had no
control over my motorcycle. My motorcycle overturned and slipped
forward on the busy road which many cars were passing by. My motorcycle
stopped because my right knee rubbed on the ground to slow down
the speed. I sat down on the ground and my motorcycle capsized
next to me. I felt hurt and tried to find out the situation. At
that time, I screamed out and pointed toward a scooter with a
big basket which brushed by my left driving mirror. One of the
passers-by heard me shouting and ran to prevent the rider who
wanted to run away. Two passers-by helped me get to the sidewalk.
Finally, the man who hit me sent me to the hospital and paid the
medical bill.
He told me that he was a deliveryman, and
he wanted to deliver more dinner boxes at one time, so he carried
a big basket. Also he wanted to save time, so he didn't notice
the distance between his scooter and mine. I had nothing to say
about this accident because I knew he had to make money, and he
did not hit me on purpose.
Fortunately, I wore my heavy jeans this
day, so I just had a slight wound on my knee. At present, as I
think back on it, I feel a little scared about what would have
happened if I had hurt my head or could not walk anymore. Even
if it was a bad day for me, I learned life is slight that we can
not fight to the fate.
