An Embarrassing Moment

I experienced an embarrassing situation in my school. It was my first day when I had my period when I was 13 years old. This moment was terrible because everybody looked at my blue pants.

When I went to lunch, my friend said, “You have menstruated because your pants are red in the back.” I didn’t know. I went to the bathroom and I checked my pants. It was horrible for me. I waited for 20 minutes in the bathroom. My friend said, “Are you okay?” I said, “I’m embarrassed because everybody looked at my pants.” In this moment my self-esteem was very low because I thought when I walked everybody was mocking me. This was an embarrassing moment.

Then, I went to the office and I told the secretary that I needed to call my mother because I had my period and my pants were red in the back. And the secretary said, “It is necessary for you to speak to the principal of the school.” I said, I didn’t want to talk to the secretary because I was too embarrassed to speak to her. I had my period.”

The first time is terrible, but now my self-esteem is not low. My mother explained that it was normal for women. Everything is okay.
