My Computer by Chen Zhao Li

listen to audio

When I was very young, I thought the computer was only for scientists to calculate some heavy math questions. Later, when I was getting more familiar with computers, I knew they could help people to do a lot more. From playing video games to building aircraft, almost anything will more or less rely on a computer. When I was in china, I was always dreaming to have my own computer, but I could not afford a computer. A Half year after I came here, I made money from working in a bakery store to buy a desktop. It was my first computer, and the dream finally came true.

From that time on, this computer became one of my best friends. I use it to search information from internet, learn English, chat with my friend, watch video and play games every day, the first thing I do when I home is turn on my computer. I found I can not live without it.

One thing I like about the computers is that it helps me to keep in touch with my good friends who live in china. I have two good friends in China. We have known each other since we were very young. We played and studied together. For me, they were as important as my family. When they saw me off in airport, we cried to each other because we were afraid that we would lose contact after I went to the US.

Thanks to the Computer, it brings us to be together again. Everyday, when I turn on my computer, I will receive some warm message from my friends. Not only messaging and email each other, we also can use web cam to see each other. This feeling is so sweet. Even though the computer is a very good thing for everyone, we need to pay attention on how to use the computer right. To spend much time on studying by using computer, less time on chatting, playing game and watching video. I believe I can control myself, and take the right approach to use computer to make my life become better.
