Hi~ every body. My name is hyeju. I’m from Korea. I have been here about 2 years. I have a part time job that is in deli store. I’m a cashier and I only work Saturday.
Oh, well, I have been working about 1and half year. Usually, when I have on vacation, I work full time like from 7to 7 and Monday to Friday. However, now I ‘m going school Monday to Thursday, so I cannot work on weekdays. Now I only work Saturday.
The store is located 42nd street in the Manhattan. It is so crowd for people who are almost tourism. When I work at this store I can meet many people whom from other countries, so I can learn language. I mean I can speak like hello or thank you something like that. I love it!
I work with Spanish guys. They work in deli. I mean they make sandwiches and other foods. I like them because I should handle the cash and I should make many kinds of coffees like cappuccino and latte…it sometimes makes me too hard. When I busy they help me a lot even though they are busy, so I’m always appreciated them.
My manager is Korean who has worked 4 years in this store. He is kind and nice. All the times, he tries to be nice to all customers. I have a curios thing that he speaks Korean, English and Spanish. I envy him. I ask him every time. “How could speak 3 languages?” It’s unfair! Oh~god~(HaHa,,)
I love this job. l like to talk with many people. While I work a cashier I have changed my personality. I learn how to talk with people nicely, and I get lessons from customers because they are different and, they have different minds and ideas. I cannot quit this job l love to talk with people and my co-workers.
