This is the history of the Inca’s ruins, which are located in South Ecuador. It is one of the biggest empires of the Incas, which was built 700 years ago. The construction was made with stone blocks. They built a principal temple and low walls, which were the homes of some Incas.
I’m from Ecuador; I’m going to talk about a brief history of Ingapirca. Ingapirca is located in South Ecuador, province of Cañar, where the native habitants have created a interesting myth about their origin: There was a flooding where two brothers saved their lives reaching the top of the Huacaynan, mountain refuge of Canaris. There they were helped in finding food by two guacamayas with women's faces. They married and procreated six children: three men and three women. In this way, they populated all territories, generating therefore the race Cañari.
A half century before the arrival of Columbus in the "New World", the Inca Empire extended from what is now central Chile northward into Ecuador. The Inca population centers were connected by an elaborate and well-maintained system of roads.
Ingapirca is the major Inca’s ruins in Ecuador. Built during the Inca expansion into Ecuador toward the end of the fifteenth century, the site had been occupied by the people of the early Canari civilization for more than 500 years. The Incas, who conquered the Canaris, destroyed most of the Canari structures, except for a burial site. They replaced the structures with their own elaborate complex that probably served as a fortification and place of adoration.
Their buildings are so interesting, built with stone blocks. The main building is the Temple of the sun, where celebrations of Inty Raimy take place every year. The Incas made this because they thought that the sun was going to illuminate the center of the temple, and they thought that the sun was God.
Also we can find a low walls, which were possibly storehouses or houses where the Incas lived. Also we can find a museum which contains Cañari and Incas customs as tools and jewelry.
In conclusion, it is one of the most tourist places of Ecuador, I want when you have enough time, go there and enjoy.
