LaGuardia HUL 100 - communication and the non-native speaker

Hey! What’s up, this is Pablo Lopez.
This recorder is about an experience that I had when I was working.
I do security, in a twelve stores building, located in Kew Garden.
My job is to check out every service, electric and telephone rooms, to avoid any fire or leaking.
There are around one hundred of these rooms inside the building. The building has five security guards and one of those is me.

O right here I’m in the building
I’m gonna start to work
I am starting my first round.
I have to walk the whole building.
I am going up by the elevator, to the twelve floor
(Elevator going up) (Elevator stopped)
Here we go, this is the twelve floor, and now I must go down stairs checking out every room.
(Type recorder stopped)

hey… this is me t again. It has passed seven hours, since I started to work. It’s now three o’clock, pm.
This is lunch time, but no for me yet. First I have to relieve the other guards, because they go to lunch first.
Let’s go t cover post number two.
Fifteen minutes are gone, and nothing has happened. Everything is clear and secure.
Oh look at there he is coming from lunch. That is Pavel the security that I am covering.

PAVEL: oook man I’m here. It’s not half hour yet but if you wanna go, go ahead

PAVEL: what’s it!

I: oh this is a type recorder. This is for homework. I need to record something

PAVEL: oh ok I see it

[Alarms start off]

I: I am taking out my radio. I need to know what’s going on.
[talking by radio] Front desk pick it up.

JHOSEP: this is it, I don’t know what happens

I: probably this is an emergency, but if it’s not we are suppose to let it know to the fire department resetting the alarm in less than forty seconds. In this way they are not gonna comiar, and they are not going to recharge the two hundred dollars that they normally do for their services.
The problem is that the counselor is new,

Ok I am here in the front desk
What’s up Jhosep

JHOSEP: I don’t know.

I: Oh right let’s see, I am resetting the system. Because this is not a big problem, it’s just a fuse burned.

[Alarms shut down]

I: I am going to check out. It says that it’s in the garage
Oh right, I am here. Everything looks secure.

[Radio communication] I: counselor, all secure.

CONSELOR: that’s a ten-four.

[Fire department’s sirens]

Oh no, now they are going to recharge it.
The counselor is explaining what happened. Now they know that was nothing big.

I am going back to work, yeah that was excited.
