My weekend (at the B.B nail salon) by Woo Ree Choi
Hi! Erika. Today I would like to talk about my weekend at nail salon. Every Saturday I get up at 7:30am and then prepare to go to work. First wash my face, brush tooth, make up, make a pony tail hair and wear clothes. When everything is done, then have a breakfast but it’s not so often to have it because usually I rush at morning time. And then I go to take a 7 train main st in Flushing. Monday though Friday I take express train but on weekend it does not have express train so, when I go to work I spend time to get there about hour. In the train have many people who are come from out of this country. I must be there at 9:30 am and all workers start to clean the store. Today in B.B nail salon has 15workers because on Saturday is the most busiest day in a week. Regular manicure is 9 dollars, pedicure is 20dollars, European pedicure is 35dollars and special pedicure is 50dollars, back massage is 10dollars for 10 minutes. Also, we do waxing, body massage and facial. My work store is located in Lexington Ave, 30 to 31st. It call B.B nail, which means beauty & best. Today it’s so busy day I couldn’t have lunch on time. Usually, I have lunch 5 or 6pm, or I can’t have it until go home. In summer time many people come to nail salon but in wintertime it’s really slow so, I have to make money in summer. Some customers are very gentle and kinds on the other hand some people are picky and noisy but I do not make angry face in front of them. This is service job; I should control these kind problems. When my customers come, I speak with them about their job, my school and other things. I can practice English from customer. B.B nail has Korean, Chinese, Spanish workers and my owner is Korean everybody is very nice to each other and helps each other even though we are busy. The B.B nail salon open at 9:30am and close 8:00pm on Saturday. After last customer is done clean pedicure chairs, garbage cans, all rooms and then prepare to go to home. I stay at the B.B nail salon about half day it makes me tire. So, I go to bed early. However, I like this job that I can work anywhere because it’s a technology and I have nail license and waxing license. |
