My Story

...I was born in the Dominican Republic. I finished high school in 1995. Then I came to New York in 1995 for eight months. I was working in McDonalds. Then I went back to the Dominican Republic to continue to study. I started to study computer systems in the university in 1997. I got the engineer title in 2002 in APEC University. When I finished my studies, I started to work in a big company. There I was working with computers in tech support. After one year working there, I came to New York to work here. Now I am working in a small company in tech support.

Education

...Education is very important for people because it is the way how you will do outside.
...The most important education is in the home because it is the first one in the life that people get. Here in New York it is very difficult to give a good education to the teenagers. Here most of the adults don’t have enough time to share with the boys because they are very busy during the week. The teenagers stay alone too much time at home. The big problem is the television and the music that the teenagers like to listen to and watch. Here their isn’t respect for the audience in the television. We have too many television programs talking about how to do sex and drugs and all the bad cultural things. And we have shows where they show the luxuries of life of the famous people like actors, rappers, musician dancers and models. They show all the nice and expensive cars, big houses, big pools and beautiful women. Then in the music and documentaries of these famous people they are singing about sex, drugs, drinking alcohol, guns and they say that they use these all the time. The boys and teenagers watch these shows at home without somebody that can tell them that those shows are not good and they have a 100% chance to go to jail. The learn all the bad samples with their rich idols and it’s a big problem.
...I hope that one day something that can stop corrupting the teenagers and they get something interesting to do like studying, sports or doing some good tasks.
