IV: Communications from:

President Mangino asked those present to please remind students to register for classes and register to vote. The Gardner Institute had its board meeting on the QCC campus met with students and donated $2,000.00, which will be used for the LGBTQIA+ resource center. President Mangino welcomed Lamar Greene, who will coordinate the center's work and create an advisory group. Bursar stated that 3,000 of our 10,000 students owe some money. These students should meet with members of the Bursar office to see if any scholarships are available. To date, 91 students have met with the Bursar's Office. There will be a Benefits Fair in October at the SLU and a ZOOM class for all the support available to QCC faculty and staff.
President Mangino had the first Catch-up with Christine on Teams, a way for other college members to learn about the college's updates.
QCC with the Gardner Institute focuses on 1st-year experiences, and the Gardner Institute has self-study for the college with different principles: cultural competencies, learning, and students’ transitioning into the college. This information will be used to inform our Middle States work next year. People will be invited to chair mini subcommittees to demonstrate that we have been introspective in our work. Please look for the invitations.

The first meeting of the University Senate was on September 17th, and the next meeting will be on October 22nd. The meeting consisted of many summaries of the work being done. There is still a deficit of $70 million, and enrollment is up; a point of interest is the proposed bylaws and revisions of the department chairs. There were some modifications to the proposals. Currently, the Board of Trustees will be acting on the proposals and voting on them tomorrow. Chairperson Verzani is asking for a strong faculty presence. Anyone interested in attending the meeting, Dr. Tai, will give more information.

Dr. Gabin encouraged everyone to submit their Annual Reports.

 VI. New Business:
